If you ever dreamed of having one portable console that also functions as a laptop, The GPD Win Max 2 (2025) is just that… and more.

The world of portable gaming continues to evolve by leaps and bounds, and one of the devices that has generated the most buzz in 2025 is the GPD Win Max 2 (2025). This device is an ambitious proposition that blends the best of an ultra-compact laptop with the controls of a portable console, offering a surprising balance between performance, portability, and functionality.

10.1″ screen

With an impressive 10.1” IPS touchscreen”, With a 2560 x 1600 resolution, you'll enjoy vibrant colors and crisp details. Plus, its comprehensive set of ports includes OcuLink, which allows a direct connection to an eGPU, further improving graphics performance, and is also compatible with MPP 2.0 active stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. This makes it a useful device for illustrators, designers, and creatives on the go.

That said, it's still a screen with 60Hz refresh rate, This may disappoint those looking for a smoother experience in competitive shooters.

Processor

The big star of this new version is its AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, based on the new architecture Zen 4 (Hawk Point). We're talking about a chip with 8 cores and 16 threads, designed not only for gaming performance, but also for tasks that leverage AI and advanced productivity.

In combination, we have an integrated GPU Radeon 780M capable of running modern titles at good quality, especially if we adjust the resolution and graphics settings.

Another key improvement is in the LPDDR5x RAM, with speeds of up to 7,500 MT/s and versions that reach the 32 GB. This ensures smooth performance even during heavy multitasking.

Storage is also generous: NVMe SSD up to 1 TB, with support for a second SSD (M.2 2230), making it ideal for those who manage extensive game libraries or large files.

Drums

The battery is 67 Wh, which promises, even 14 hours of light use, ornas 6-8 hours of multimedia playback, andin demanding games, 4 to 5 hours at most, fast charging 100 W It allows you to recover the 50 % in just 20 minutes, which is appreciated when on the go.

The GPD WIN MAX 2 2025 It comes with an improved PC-level cooling system, which includes a large turbine-type fan and two heat pipes. This system offers powerful lateral airflow and intelligent fan speed control. When the internal temperature is below 40°C, the fan operates at no more than 20% of its maximum capacity. As the temperature rises above 40°C, the fan speed increases in increments of 2% (PWM), up to 100% if necessary.

Design and controls

The WIN MAX 2 2025 comes with everything you need to play without having to connect external controllers. The joysticks, D-pad, classic ABXY buttons, and triggers are all built into the device, arranged in the Xbox style, making gameplay incredibly comfortable right from the start.

The joysticks use Hall sensor technology, which means they won't wear out with use. Another great feature is the magnetic covers that protect the sticks when not in use. They're easy to attach, stay securely in place, and when you want to play, you simply remove them and store them in a compartment on the back.

As for the design, everything is designed for your comfort, whether you're gaming or working. It has a backlit QWERTY keyboard, a very precise touchpad, triggers that feel good to press, and built-in speakers that sound really good.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, the GPD Win Max 2 (2025) is very complete, bringing us 2x USB4 (40 Gbps), 1x OCuLink to connect an external eGPU, 2x USB-A Gen 2, HDMI 2.1, SD/microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3

Conclusion

The GPD Win Max 2 (2025) is not just a portable console, nor is it just a mini laptop. It's a versatile hybrid that surprises with how much it manages to pack into such a small space.
