Realme 8 5G, cutting-edge connectivity and featherweight design…
Just over a month ago, Realme surprised everyone with the launch of the Realme 8 Pro. This phone, priced around €300, boasts features many would envy. Now, it's the turn of the Realme 8 5G. Its exterior design is virtually identical to the 4G version of the Realme 8. There are a few differences, primarily internal. In short, it's a 5G-enabled phone with incredible mid-range features, priced around €200.
A screen that works really well
This time, Realme has equipped its Realme 8 5G with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of 90Hz, reaching 180Hz for touch response. The selfie camera is located in a hole in the upper left corner of the screen. The aspect ratio is 20:9.
The brightness reaches up to 600 cd/m2. Even though it's a mid-range IPS LCD screen, it looks really good and you won't have any problems watching your favorite videos or playing games.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G to equip this new Realme 8 5G
Realme has opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 700, the company's most modest 5G-enabled processor, making it suitable for the budget mid-range market. It's a 7-nanometer processor compatible with 5G. This octa-core processor reaches speeds of up to 2.2 GHz. These eight cores are distributed as follows: two Cortex A76 cores at 2.2 GHz and the remaining six Cortex A55 cores running at 2 GHz.
The accompanying GPU is a Mali G57 MC2. Compared to Qualcomm, this Dimensity 700 is positioned as an alternative to the Snapdragon 690.
This Realme 8 5G offers a choice of 4 or 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Storage can always be expanded via SD card.
Triple rear camera with 48 megapixels
The Realme surprises us by including a triple rear camera setup in this Realme 8 5G, with some differences compared to the base Realme 8. The main difference is that the sensor is 48 megapixels instead of the 64 megapixels found in its smaller sibling, and it only has two secondary cameras: a macro lens and a monochrome sensor. The main camera has an aperture of f/1.8, while the secondary cameras have an aperture of f/2.4. Video recording is limited to a maximum resolution of FHD.
The front camera features a 16-megapixel sensor and an f/2.1 aperture. Optical image stabilization is not available this time. Slow-motion video can be recorded at 120 frames per second, and the phone also offers digital zoom, autofocus, geotagging, HDR, and face detection.
A battery of the usual size
The Chinese manufacturer has opted for a 5,000 mAh battery. It also features 18-watt fast charging.

We could say that the Realme 8 5G has everything you could want. It features 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C charging.
